AVE Academy Cambridge Curriculum – A Complete Pathway from Early Years to A-Levels

At AVE Academy, your child is guided on a clear journey from their very first school days to university preparation. We follow the Cambridge Pathway, the world’s most trusted international curriculum, which balances academic excellence with the skills children need for life.

Our mission is simple: to help children grow into confident, curious, and capable learners who are ready for success anywhere in the world.

Early Years (Kid Castle) – Ages 3–5

The first years of school are about more than ABCs and 123s — they’re about discovering a love of learning. At AVE, children explore through play, stories, and hands-on discovery.

We focus on 7 key areas:
– Talking, listening, and understanding
– Building social skills and friendships
– Early literacy and numeracy
– Movement, creativity, and problem-solving

Why it matters: These years build your child’s confidence, independence, and curiosity — the best foundation for a happy school life.

Cambridge Primary (Key Stage 1 & 2): Ages 5–11

In Primary, children dive into English, Math, Science, Humanities, and Arts — all in 100% English immersion.

At AVE, we add something special:
– UFLI Literacy Program – a research-based system that helps children become strong, confident readers.
– A supportive, caring environment where teachers know each child well.

By the end of Year 6, students take the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint exams, showing parents and teachers exactly how well they are prepared for the next step.

Why it matters: Children develop strong foundations in both academics and character, setting them up for success in secondary school.

Cambridge Lower Secondary (Key Stage 3) – Ages 11–14

As children grow, so does their curiosity. In Lower Secondary, students continue with the core Cambridge subjects, but learning becomes more independent and exploratory.

What makes AVE different:
– Fully equipped science labs for experiments.
– STEAM projects that bring science, technology, art, and problem-solving together.
– Caring teachers who guide students through the challenges of adolescence.

At Year 9, students take the Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint exams, helping parents track progress before IGCSE.

Why it matters: Students gain the confidence to think critically, solve problems, and prepare for serious academic study.

Cambridge Upper Secondary (IGCSE): Ages 14–16

This is when students start to specialize and think about their future. The Cambridge IGCSE is the world’s most popular qualification for this age — and is recognized by schools and universities everywhere.

At AVE, IGCSE students:
– Choose subjects that match their strengths and goals.
– Learn in small classes where teachers support each individual.
– Build study skills that prepare them for higher education.

Why it matters: Completing IGCSEs gives students qualifications that are accepted worldwide, opening doors to international opportunities. Learn more about the Cambridge IGCSE program HERE.

Cambridge Advanced (A-Levels): Ages 16–19

Launching at AVE in 2027, the final step of the pathway is the Cambridge A-Levels. These are known worldwide as the “gold standard” for university entrance.

– AS-Level (1 year): a strong start in chosen subjects.
– A-Level (2 years): the full qualification needed for entry to top universities around the world.

Why it matters: With A-Levels, AVE students won’t just be ready for university — they’ll be ready for success anywhere in the world.
