Aplastic Anemia Support: A Community United for Angelina
A Life-Threatening Illness Close to Home
At AVE Academy, our strength has always come from our community. Today, that strength is being tested once again as we rally together in aplastic anemia support for one of our students, Angelina.
Aplastic anemia is a rare and life-threatening condition in which the bone marrow fails to produce enough blood cells. This includes red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets — all essential for survival.
Without them, the body becomes extremely vulnerable to infection, fatigue, and internal bleeding. Despite its rarity, the condition carries a high fatality risk if not treated quickly and effectively.

The Financial Burden of Survival
Providing effective aplastic anemia support requires not only advanced medical care but also significant financial resources.
Angelina is currently undergoing intensive treatment, including frequent blood transfusions and specialized hospital care. Identifying suitable bone marrow donors, maintaining ongoing treatment, and managing complications all contribute to escalating costs.
As her condition progresses, the financial burden increases rapidly, placing enormous pressure on her family during an already devastating time.
A Painful Reminder for the AVE Community
For many in our school, this situation is deeply personal.
Just last year, the AVE community lost Tristan Starobynski, a 10-year-old student who bravely battled the same illness. His passing left a lasting impact on our students, parents, and staff.
This is why aplastic anemia support is not just a cause — it is a responsibility that resonates across our entire community.

A Community Comes Together
In response, AVE Academy and the wider Nha Trang community came together for a charity event at La Villa Art Restaurant.
The event featured a live auction and strong participation from local businesses, families, and supporters.
Auction contributions included:
- Hotel and resort vouchers
- Dining and spa experiences
- Artwork from local artists
- Educational courses from AVE teachers
The collective effort demonstrated the power of community-driven aplastic anemia support in action.
By the end of the evening, over 110 million VND had been raised and donated directly to Angelina’s family.

Stronger Through Adversity
This experience has reinforced a fundamental truth: adversity strengthens unity.
The overwhelming response from the community shows that aplastic anemia support extends beyond financial contributions — it is about solidarity, compassion, and shared purpose.
A Fight That Continues
Angelina remains in critical condition and continues to fight every day.
While the odds are difficult, her resilience inspires us all. We continue to hope, support, and stand alongside her and her family during this incredibly challenging time.
We extend our deepest gratitude to her parents, family, medical team, and everyone contributing to this ongoing effort.
