Mr. David Kimball joins AVE Academy as Vice Principal and English Language Arts teacher for Year 9 and IGCSE, bringing 15 years of teaching and leadership experience across South Korea, Vietnam, and Indonesia. His three children Jasmine, Cody, and Leilani are all students at AVE Academy, making this community as personal as it is professional.
Hello AVE Academy families! I am so excited to officially join this wonderful community as your Vice Principal.
My path into education started in the United States, where I worked in real estate before realising my true calling was in the classroom. That leap of faith brought me to Asia, beginning with five extraordinary years in Ansan-Seoul, South Korea a place that holds a very special place in my heart, and where my life changed in the best possible way. My wife Mina joined me there and we welcomed our eldest daughter, Jasmine An.
In 2016 our growing family moved to Da Nang, Vietnam, where we spent seven wonderful years. Along the way we were blessed with two more children: Cody Khai, who surprised us by arriving on my birthday, and our youngest, Leilani Ai. After attempting to launch a language school just before COVID and leading a primary school in Da Nang, our path took us briefly to the cool highlands of Bandung, Indonesia before arriving here in Nha Trang.
Fifteen years of teaching and school leadership across South Korea, Vietnam, and Indonesia have shaped everything I believe about education: that community is the foundation of everything, that every family deserves to feel genuinely seen, and that the best schools are the ones where students, teachers, and parents all grow together.
My three children attend AVE Academy, which means I am not just your Vice Principal I am also a parent in this community. That matters to me every single day.
