Mr. William Pusey brings four years of teaching in Vietnam and a lifetime of adventure to AVE Academy’s English Language Arts classroom for Years 6, 7, and 8. A Biology graduate, qualified swimming coach, and ocean sports enthusiast who grew up in East Africa, he brings a spirit of curiosity and real-world thinking to every lesson.
Hello! My name is Mr. William, and I teach English Language Arts to students in Years 6, 7, and 8 here at AVE Academy.
I have been teaching for four years, and before that I spent many years working in business and research. That background shapes how I teach. I want students to develop communication skills and ways of thinking that work in the real world, not just in the classroom.
Outside of school, sport has always been a big part of my life. I have spent many years volunteering as a swimming coach at local clubs wherever I have lived, and I have also worked as an instructor in indoor and long-range target shooting. Many of my favourite activities involve the ocean: swimming, competitive swimming, bodysurfing, paddleboarding, surfing, scuba diving, and freediving. I also love exploring Vietnam’s beautiful countryside and food by motorbike, and I share some of those adventures on my small YouTube travel channel.
I look forward to bringing that same enthusiasm and sense of adventure into our English classroom this year.
