Ms. Terri Knight brings nine years of international teaching experience to AVE Academy’s Year 3B classroom. Originally from South Africa, where she holds degrees in Psychology and Criminology, she has taught across South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam and is known for building classrooms where students feel genuinely safe to grow.
Hello, my name is Ms. Terri, and I’m very happy to be joining the AVE Academy community as the Year 3B homeroom teacher.
I am originally from South Africa, where I completed my Bachelor’s Degree with dual majors in Psychology and Criminology at the University of Pretoria, followed by Honours Degrees in both subjects through the University of South Africa. I am currently completing a Master’s Degree in Psychology and also hold a 120-hour TESOL qualification.
I have been teaching English and working with young learners for over nine years in international education. My teaching experience has taken me to South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam, where I have worked with students from a wide variety of backgrounds and age groups. These experiences have helped me develop a flexible, student-centred approach to teaching with a strong focus on building positive relationships with every learner.
I believe children do their best learning when they feel happy, supported, and confident. I encourage my students to be curious, try new things, learn from their mistakes, and treat each other with kindness and respect. My goal is to create a classroom where every student feels valued and has the confidence to participate, explore, and grow.
I am excited to begin this new chapter at AVE Academy and look forward to working together with students, parents, and the wider school community throughout the year!
